Welcome to my blog! If you’ve browsed the FAVORITES page and scrolled through the gallery there, this is a great next place to get a more in-depth idea of my style and the kinds of sessions I do. I love to shake it up and try new things, though, so if you don’t see something posted here that you’ve been dreaming of doing, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me a message via the CONNECT page, and let’s make it happen!
Photography adventures are where I truly come alive.
Okay, so I don’t have a direct line to Taylor Swift to ask her to write blog posts for me, so you might be asking yourself, what on Earth does T. Swift have to do with portrait photography??
And I’ll give you that. It’s not immediately obvious. BUT, in revisiting each album and its overall message, I came up with a takeaway from each of Taylor’s distinct eras that I think can make any photo session a whole lot more interesting.
One disclaimer, I totally made this image of one of my favorite clients BEFORE I saw the new album cover for “The Life of a Showgirl.” ;)
Have you heard what’s going down this Mother’s Day??
No? Okay, I’m about to fill you in on a super awesome offering that I’m bringing to the greater Montgomery, Alabama area this year in partnership with a few friends of mine. The thing is, YOU HAVE TO BOOK IT BY MAY 3RD, 2025!
Ladies, if you want to be extremely pampered this year, stop reading now and share the link to this post with anyone who might want to truly spoil you this Mother’s Day.
I’m so excited to share this interview I did with CJ Brown, owner of House of Colour Pike Road! Not sure what color analysis even is? You came to the right place! CJ and I sat down to discuss her business, who it’s for, and why you might want to visit her before you schedule your photo session with me!
Listen in on our conversation, or check out the summary below. When we all work together, I’m pretty sure we’ll be the dream team of making you look good! ;)
I know we all say this every year, but this one really flew by. I’m so grateful for all the people I got to meet and the opportunity to help them remember their important moments and relationships. It’s truly an honor every time.
This year, I wanted to acknowledge each client and give one lucky subject the opportunity to WIN A MASSAGE GIFT CERTIFICATE from Peaceful Solutions!
No matter where you live, it’s kind of cliché to talk about the weather. Here in Alabama, we’re no different. We like to think our weather is exceptional (that humidity!), and it certainly can be. But! That’s not the only reason someone might want to avoid being outside for a photo session. Below, I’ll walk you through several reasons why an indoor portrait session is actually a great idea, even if it’s a perfect 75 degrees and sunny outside.
After extensive exploration in the Montgomery, AL area, I bring you my list of favorite photo session locations! If you’re in the market for a portrait session and you’re not sure where to start, you’re in the right place. See something you like? Get in touch via my Connect page, and we’ll start planning!
This session was such a treat to photograph! Not only were Ashton and Nick a delight to meet and work with, but it really warms my heart to see people celebrating the phase of life they’re in, even if big changes are on the horizon. The message here is you don’t have to wait for the next big thing! Life can be beautiful right now. No one says if you celebrate today you can’t celebrate again tomorrow or next month or next year!
Okay, bear with me, because I’m about to share a potentially unpopular opinion.
If you feel uneasy when being photographed (and even if you feel completely comfortable), my advice is to ignore the camera. Seriously, don’t even look at it! Staring into a camera lens is totally unnatural for most of us, so why would we want a bunch of images of ourselves doing something we never do?
As the morning sun slowly peeks through the curtains, a family gathers in their cozy kitchen, ready to embark on a day filled with love, laughter, and delightful moments. With two energetic young boys and their adoring parents, I had the privilege of capturing their beautiful journey in the tranquil suburb of Simsbury, Connecticut.
Okay, talk about a good reason to schedule a family photo session! But really, make that several good reasons.
As if being a parent and an active-duty Air Force family wasn’t enough, these two also recently completed their master’s degrees! Those are definitely accomplishments worth remembering.
Oh wow, this was such a cool session! I found this awesome airbnb almost in my back yard, and I was so inspired by its decor (the dreary February weather outside was a big factor, too) that I invited these two to come help me show the benefits of planning an indoor session documenting a cozy evening at “home.”
Oh, what a beautiful evening we had to photograph Margaret and her boys! They were truly such a joyful family, and we had a great time playing and exploring. This spot is definitely a favorite of mine for its versatility and interest.
I’ve had a few newborn photography inquiries lately, so I thought it was about time I blog this sweet session with the adorable baby Zoe to give prospective clients an idea of how a newborn session typically goes when you invite me to document your precious new arrival.
Think your kids are too active for professional photography? These parents definitely had some trepidation about how this session would go because their little girl is BUSY. But, when all was said and done and their gallery was delivered, they literally asked each other “how did she get so many good shots?”
Think you have to wait until spring to have a beautiful scenery for a photo session? These friends know that’s not the case at all! We had a great time running around in the tall dried grass, which caught the light of the sunset so beautifully. Personally, I didn’t miss the
My neighbor, Vicki, has the most beautiful home and an even more beautiful English garden in her back yard. So, you can imagine, I was thrilled when I was invited to take her daughter’s maternity pictures. As you can see, Sydney makes a gorgeous pregnant lady, so we
This year, we tried a little something different to celebrate Mother’s Day. I got myself immersed in making over our guest bedroom into a beautiful boho-inspired studio and invited ALL WOMEN, regardless of traditional “motherhood” labels to take part in the mini session madness.
I was so excited when Kelly contacted me about having a photo session. This wasn’t going to be just any family photo shoot. She wanted to arrange a special session to celebrate the women in her family while her mother and sister were visiting from FAR outside of town.
